Pincushions
In the lush green valleys at the base of the 10,000 foot, snow covered,
Wallowa Mountains small bands of sheep peacefully graze. These well-cared
for sheep provide the wool for our pincushions. After the sheep are sheared
in the spring, the wool is gently washed so some of the lanolin is still
retained. Lanolin is a natural oil from wool, that prevents corrosion and
rust of your pins and needles. Each pincushion is made by hand, from the
shearing, washing, dying, carding, to the needle felting and accessorizing.
Needle felting utilizes sharp barbed needles that when poked into a ball of
wool cause it to felt without using heat, soap or water. It is an adaptation of a 100 year old technology used in woolen mills in the early 20th century. Thank you for adding this charming, useful tool to your sewing

Woolen Hats by Sally Brandt
These boiled wool hats are 85% wool, 15% mohair. They are available in any
color or combination of colors. They are sized in small, medium and large.
They can be washed in warm water with dish soap and dried on a towel,
shaping to your head as they dry. Please indicate S,M,L size in comment area
of shopping cart.

Mohair Hats by Sally Brandt
These one-of-a-kind mohair caps are made from hand-painted mohair and are
light but amazingly warm. They can be washed in cold water and dish soap
and laid on a a towel to dry.
