Finnish Real Rag Rugs™
The pattern for these colorful handwoven rugs was taught to me by the old Finnish women in my childhood community. Since I was only ½ Finn, didn’t speak the language or drink coffee, I was a bit of a disappointment to them until I showed an interest in their weaving. They jumped on the wagon and made sure I would never forget this pattern. These women were very thrifty and made their beautiful rugs out of everything and anything. Recycling is not a new idea and I carry on the tradition. The colors and textures had me hooked.
